As we continue to celebrate International Women's Day this March, we are honoured to recognise the remarkable female finalists of Smokeball's 2023 Community Hero Awards.
From smashing glass ceilings to advocating for justice, these powerhouse women are leading the charge in promoting equity and propelling progress within the legal realm. Listen in as they share their compelling stories and shed light on the impactful work they're performing.
In this episode, Smokeball’s General Manager, Bianca Bowron-Cuthill, had the pleasure of interviewing Sarah Ibrahim, Director of the Racial Justice Centre and a deserving runner-up in Smokeball’s 2023 Community Hero Awards.
Sarah is an experienced commercial and human rights lawyer and a passionate advocate for racial justice and increased diversity within the legal profession.
Sarah runs her own commercial law firm Central Lawyers, and founded the Racial Justice Centre after seeing a substantial need for legal advice and public interest litigation to further the cause of racial equality in Australia. The Racial Justice Centre is a not-for-profit legal service that is currently run by a team of professionals and students volunteering their time.
