The practical implications of working with the newly established Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCOA) will be explored in the multi-state 2022 State of Family Law Program with events taking place in February and June.
Led by Smokeball and FamilyProperty, the events will invite family law experts to discuss and share their practical experiences resulting from the changes introduced by the FCFCOA, including the new client journey, pre-action procedures, dispute resolution processes, new cost provisions, new compliance steps and navigating new forms.
According to Fiona Kirkman, CEO of FamilyProperty, family law professionals are still discovering how to best work within the new case management system.
"With separation on the rise and most clients engaging boutique law firms to handle their family law matters, not a lot of time or administrative support is available to family lawyers to master the FCFCOA's brand-new processes and documents. We want to empower these professionals to understand the FCFCOA's processes and documents so they can do their jobs and assist their clients more effectively."
"We want to offer clients a seamless family law experience, both in the dispute resolution and Court phases of their matters. The roadshow is designed to ensure that family lawyers are equipped to ensure that this occurs", Fiona continued.
